2/1/12 CCA Baseball Club Minutes

Board attendance: Andrew Davis, Mike O’Connor, Matt McAreavy, Trevor Bollers, Todd Liddell, Mike Wurth, Marci Armstrong, Brett Mehman.

Sponsors: Todd reported receiving $100 from The Depot. President O’Connor reported $250 from Adair Chiropractic and $500 from Carousel II, $150 for Venteicher Heating & A/C, LLC.

Uniform date deadline: The Board decided to stick with the 2/8 deadline. The Board will remind coaches to have their players get fitted. Trevor will get the date uniforms will be available from Rage.

Tournament $$: Coaches will be invited to attend the Board meeting on 2/8 to discuss getting money for tournaments.

Eastern Iowa League vs. Hawkeye League: The Board will leave the decision up to each individual coach(es).

New Players: O’Connor inquired about adding new players who failed to attend tryouts. The other members of the Board referred him to the bylaws.

City Council: O’Connor and Wurth reported the City council was very receptive to the CCA Baseball Club and will honor their requests for field use. Concession will be allowed. The fields can be named with a banner as long as a 25% donation is made to the Tiffin parks department. The City is also looking to change field one to a multi-use field.

Hot Feet fundraiser: Trevor will conduct this fundraiser on 3/9 & 3/10. Two sessions, 20 spots/session. Ages 8-11 and 12-15.

Miscellaneous: Coaches clinic date-will be discussed next week with coaches; Once schedule is set the Board will try to get a pool of umpires to work club games; Binders will be given to coaches at next week’s meeting-initially they will include: USSSA regulations, CCABC bylaws, Code of conduct, waiver and release of liability, copies of birth certificates; Matt volunteered to get first aid kits; Coach Davis indicated the high school baseball will be divided as such: varsity, level 1, level 2.
