{"id":3299,"date":"2020-03-12T12:21:40","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T17:21:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ccabaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3299"},"modified":"2020-08-25T12:16:04","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T17:16:04","slug":"march-9-2020","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/clippersbaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3299","title":{"rendered":"March 9, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>CLIPPERS BASEBALL CLUB BOARD MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday, March 9, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening: <\/strong>Clippers Baseball Club Board Meeting was held Monday, March 9, 2020 at Tiffin City Hall in Tiffin, IA at 6:02pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Board Members Present: <\/strong>Nick Pfeiffer (President), Jeremiah Herdliska (Vice President), Kelly Weber (Treasurer), Matt Carlson (Secretary), Sarah Seidl, Bridgette Schares, April Schmitz, Ethan Smith<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Others Present: <\/strong>Golda Mohonan, Brandon Schrock, Trent DeKoter, Angela Jurgens, Tim Blattner, Brett Breard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Open Discussion from Membership:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Clippers Baseball Club Tax Filing:<\/strong><ul><li>Taxes have been filed for 2017 and 2018.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Reggie Meade will file an extension for 2019 tax filing and complete the club\u2019s 2019 taxes in August 2020. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The Club will change their accounting period to align with the baseball season.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Kudos to Reggie Meade for all the pro bono tax preparation work he has done to support the Clippers Baseball Club.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>This item can be removed from the April 13th agenda.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Update on Outstanding Action Items:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>April Schmitz will contact Naomi\u2019s Kitchen to get additional information about fundraising opportunities. Fundraising targeted for March 2020 \u2013 COMPLETE<\/strong><ul><li>Naomi\u2019s Kitchen is generously donating $20 per order to the Clipper Baseball Club. Here&#8217;s all you need to do:<ul><li>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naomiskitchen.com\/\">naomiskitchen.com<\/a>, go to the Calendar, and select Clippers Baseball Fundraiser on March 26th. The club will pay $610 to the City of Tiffin, and $100 (rounded up) to the City of North Liberty.<\/strong><ul><li>$610 owed to the City of Tiffin.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>$1,511 owed to the City of North Liberty.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Other Outstanding Debts:<ul><li>The club has a -$700 bank account balance owed from the previous administration.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>A $500 scholarship is owed.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Team Photos:<\/strong><ul><li>Team and individual photos are scheduled for Tuesday, 3\/31 at the Tiffin Ballfields. Here is the club schedule:<ul><li>7U: 5:30pm<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>8U: 5:50pm<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>9U: 6:10pm<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>10U White: 6:30pm<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>10U Blue: 6:50pm<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>12U: 7:10pm<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Katie Schmelzer of KS Photography will take club photos and provide online ordering capabilities for each player. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Each team should budget for around $125 for team banners, this comes from team funds this year, not the club&#8217;s funds.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The rainout date for photos is Wednesday, 4\/1 at the same times for each team.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Teams will be responsible for paying for their own team banners that generally run about $100-125 each.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Update on Pending Legal Details:<\/strong><ul><li>No restitution has been paid. About $38K is owed.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The trial is currently scheduled for 4\/7, but is unlikely to go to trial.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Clipper Club 2021 Tryouts:<\/strong><ul><li>Club tryout dates are scheduled for Wednesday, 7\/15, and Saturday, 7\/25. More details to come.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report:<\/strong><ul><li>3\/8 Clippers Baseball Club checking account balance: $17,835.72<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>3\/9 Roster and Dues Update:<ul><li>Families who have not paid second payment dues:<ul><li>9U Team<ul><li>1 unpaid player<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>8U Team<ul><li>1 unpaid player<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Open Discussion:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Decisions:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): The CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are the top debt priorities: $500 owed to CCASD, $793.10 owed for insurance dues, and $500 owed for mound rental fees.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): There is $479 left after CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are paid.Of the remaining funds raised $100 will go to Tiffin Parks &amp; Rec, and $350 will go to North Liberty Parks &amp; Rec.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (11\/11\/19): The Clippers Club Board voted in favor of making the Clipper Classic a one-day USSSA sanctioned tournament.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (12\/9\/19): $621.72 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $300 to the City of North Liberty, and $300 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (2\/10\/20): $899.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $450 to the City of North Liberty, and $450 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (3\/9\/20): $705.54 has been raised to repay debts.
