{"id":3573,"date":"2020-10-14T08:51:09","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T13:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ccabaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3573"},"modified":"2020-10-14T09:08:13","modified_gmt":"2020-10-14T14:08:13","slug":"october-12-2020","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/clippersbaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3573","title":{"rendered":"October 12, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>CLIPPERS BASEBALL CLUB BOARD MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday, October 12, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening: <\/strong>Clippers Baseball Club Board Meeting was held Monday, October 12, 2020 remotely at 6:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Board Members Present: <\/strong>Nick Pfeiffer (President), Kelly Weber (Treasurer), Bridgette Schares, Jamie Etscheidt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul><li><strong><u>Open Discussion from Membership<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The Clippers Baseball Club needs to recruit additional\u00a0Board Members. Nick Pfeiffer is trying to recruit at least one parent from each team and will do so in a follow-up email after the meeting.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Update on Outstanding Action Items<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Jeremiah and Sara Herdliska will organize the Clippers Baseball Club garage sale.<ul><li>Update: The garage sale date is scheduled for Sunday, October 18 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The club was unable to secure a suitable indoor location, so the Herdliska&#8217;s\u00a0will host the garage sale at their house. If there is inclement weather the event will be postponed to a future date TBD. Donations will be accepted at Herdliska&#8217;s and Pfeiffer&#8217;s.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Update: The club still needs more items donated for the garage sale on 10\/18. The Herdliska&#8217;s\u00a0need help setting up at 7am if folks can be there to help. Bring folding tables if you have them and continue to help get the word out.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Bridgette Schares will approach Scratch Cupcakes for a cupcake fundraising sale.<ul><li>Update: Bridgette Schares scheduled the Scratch Cupcakes fundraiser for June 2021.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>2021 Registration and Team Updates<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Clipper Club teams that could use more players:<ul><li>7U Blue &#8211; 11 committed and paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>8U Blue &#8211; 11 committed and paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>8U White &#8211; 11\u00a0committed and paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>9U Blue &#8211; 10 committed and 8 paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>10U Blue &#8211; 11 committed and paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>10U White &#8211; 11\u00a0committed and 10 paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>11U Blue &#8211; 12 committed and paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>11U White &#8211; 9 committed (Club has not asked for payment yet)<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>13U Blue &#8211; 12\u00a0committed and paid<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>13U White &#8211; Players from Liberty are no longer interested in creating a joint Liberty\/Clippers team. Nick Pfeiffer will let the four Clipper families know that we are unable to establish a team for them.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Logo\/Apparel\/Uniform Discussion<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Nick Pfeiffer and Kelly Weber met with Ironside on 10\/7. Weber will email the Board ideas and pricing when Ironside is able to provide this information.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Uniforms will be the same basic gray pants, there will be two tops: 1) a two-button top and, 2) a t-shirt or V-neck top. The hat will be lighter than hats from previous seasons.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>There will be a variety of items available at the online apparel site, and it will be up in time to receive items for the holidays.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Fundraising<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The Board discussed doing a lasagna (or similar) fundraiser.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Last year the Clippers Softball Club raised $10K selling frozen lasagnas. Kelly Weber will research the feasibility of the Clippers Baseball Club doing a similar fundraiser.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Sponsorships<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>No updates.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The latest monthly Clippers Baseball Club checking account statement from 9\/30 has a balance of $15,691.92.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Hills Bank sent the Clippers Baseball Club final confirmation that the balance was paid, and the account is officially closed.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Decisions<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): The CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are the top debt priorities: $500 owed to CCASD, $793.10 owed for insurance dues, and $500 owed for mound rental fees.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): There is $479 left after CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are paid.Of the remaining funds raised $100 will go to Tiffin Parks &amp; Rec, and $350 will go to North Liberty Parks &amp; Rec.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (11\/11\/19): The Clippers Club Board voted in favor of making the Clipper Classic a one-day USSSA sanctioned tournament.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (12\/9\/19): $621.72 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $300 to the City of North Liberty, and $300 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (2\/10\/20): $899.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $450 to the City of North Liberty, and $450 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (3\/9\/20): $705.54 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $610 to the City of Tiffin, and $100 (rounded up) to the City of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (4\/13\/20): The Clippers Baseball Club Board will split the $1,000 grant money evenly among the 6 club teams. Each team may be reimbursed up to $166.67 for equipment purchased between 1\/1\/20 \u2013 5\/31\/20.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (4\/13\/20): $187.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $180 (rounded down) to city of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (6\/8\/20): $674.25 has been raised to repay debts ($675 rounded up). The club will pay $500 to the Clippers Baseball Club Scholarship debt and $175 to the city of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $1,056 was approved by the Board to pay towards the City of North Liberty debt. Debt paid in full.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $285 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 7U 2019 debt.
