{"id":3604,"date":"2020-11-12T09:35:53","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T15:35:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ccabaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3604"},"modified":"2020-11-13T09:18:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-13T15:18:36","slug":"november-9-2020","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/clippersbaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3604","title":{"rendered":"November 9, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>CLIPPERS BASEBALL CLUB BOARD MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday, November 9, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening: <\/strong>Clippers Baseball Club Board Meeting was held Monday, November 9, 2020 remotely at 6:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Board Members Present: <\/strong>Nick Pfeiffer (President), Jeremiah Herdliska (Vice President), Kelly Weber (Treasurer), Matt Carlson (Secretary), Bridgette Schares, Ethan Smith, Cori Charbon, Darla Iburg, Jennifer Johnson, Julie Vance, Katie Piper, Scott Boyce<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li><strong><u>Open Discussion from Membership<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Introduce\/Welcome New Board Members<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Nick Pfeiffer introduced the new board members:<ul><li>Scott Boyce (8U White)<\/li><li>Cori Charbon (8U White)<\/li><li>Darla Iburg (10U White)<\/li><li>Jennifer Johnson (7U)<\/li><li>Katie Piper (9U)<\/li><li>Julie Vance (7U)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Explain Responsibilities of the Board<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Nick Pfeiffer provided an overview of the responsibilities of the board for the new members.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Update on Outstanding Action Items<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Bridgette Schares will approach Scratch Cupcakes for a cupcake fundraising sale.<ul><li>Update: Bridgette Schares scheduled the Scratch Cupcakes fundraiser for June 2021.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Kelly Weber will research the feasibility of the Clippers Baseball Club doing a frozen lasagna fundraiser.<ul><li>Update: Kelly Weber is working with Nicole Schrock to organize the fundraiser.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>2021 Registration and Team Updates<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Outstanding Clipper Club teams in need of additional players:<ul><li>10U White &#8211; 11&nbsp;committed and 10 paid<\/li><li>11U White &#8211; 7 committed and 4 paid<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Logo\/Apparel\/Uniform Discussion<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The Clippers Baseball Club store is open and taking apparel orders with the club\u2019s new logo through 11\/16\/20. Proceeds benefit the Club: <a href=\"https:\/\/clippersbaseballwinter2020.itemorder.com\/sale\">https:\/\/clippersbaseballwinter2020.itemorder.com\/sale<\/a>.<\/li><li>Customers may choose to save on shipping by selecting &#8220;Pick Up from Coordinator&#8221; during check out. The club will arrange for a couple of specific pick-up times in Tiffin.<\/li><li>We will have another order in the Spring with more spring\/summer items.<\/li><li>To date the club has raised $263.24 in apparel orders.<\/li><li>Uniform fittings will run differently this year, we are still targeting uniform fittings for January 2021.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Fundraising<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Jeremiah and Sarah Herdliska\u2019s Clippers Club garage sale raised $690 and earned $90 in store credit for the club at Play It Again Sports in Iowa City.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Sponsorships<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The latest monthly Clippers Baseball Club checking account statement from 10\/30 has a balance of $25,078.83.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Discuss Future of 11U White<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The deadline to determine if there will be an 11U White team is 11\/22\/20.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Clipper Classic Update<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The club has fields booked for the Clipper Classic 5\/1\/21 and 5\/2\/21 in North Liberty and Tiffin.<\/li><li>The club will continue to discuss pricing, field placement, and logistics over the next few months.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Decisions<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): The CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are the top debt priorities: $500 owed to CCASD, $793.10 owed for insurance dues, and $500 owed for mound rental fees.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): There is $479 left after CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are paid.Of the remaining funds raised $100 will go to Tiffin Parks &amp; Rec, and $350 will go to North Liberty Parks &amp; Rec.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (11\/11\/19): The Clippers Club Board voted in favor of making the Clipper Classic a one-day USSSA sanctioned tournament.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (12\/9\/19): $621.72 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $300 to the City of North Liberty, and $300 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (2\/10\/20): $899.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $450 to the City of North Liberty, and $450 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (3\/9\/20): $705.54 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $610 to the City of Tiffin, and $100 (rounded up) to the City of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (4\/13\/20): The Clippers Baseball Club Board will split the $1,000 grant money evenly among the 6 club teams. Each team may be reimbursed up to $166.67 for equipment purchased between 1\/1\/20 \u2013 5\/31\/20.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (4\/13\/20): $187.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $180 (rounded down) to city of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (6\/8\/20): $674.25 has been raised to repay debts ($675 rounded up). The club will pay $500 to the Clippers Baseball Club Scholarship debt and $175 to the city of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $1,056 was approved by the Board to pay towards the City of North Liberty debt. Debt paid in full.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $285 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 7U 2019 debt. Debt paid in full.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $620 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 8U 2019 debt.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $1,696 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 11U 2019 debt.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Outstanding Action Items<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>ACTION ITEM (9\/15\/20): Bridgette Schares will approach Scratch Cupcakes for a cupcake fundraising sale.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>ACTION ITEM (10\/12\/20): Kelly Weber will research the feasibility of the Clippers Baseball Club doing a frozen lasagna fundraiser.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Adjournment<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Meeting adjourned at 6:37pm.
