{"id":3649,"date":"2021-03-12T09:22:28","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T15:22:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ccabaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3649"},"modified":"2021-03-12T09:31:30","modified_gmt":"2021-03-12T15:31:30","slug":"march-8-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/clippersbaseballclub.org\/?page_id=3649","title":{"rendered":"March 8, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>CLIPPERS BASEBALL CLUB BOARD MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening: <\/strong>Clippers Baseball Club Board Meeting was held Monday, March 8, 2021 remotely at 6:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Board Members Present: <\/strong>Nick Pfeiffer (President), Jeremiah Herdliska (Vice President), Kelly Weber (Treasurer), Matt Carlson (Secretary), Bridgette Schares, Katie Piper, Jessi Drake, Darla Iburg, Jen Johnson, Julie Vance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li><strong><u>Open Discussion from Membership<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Update on Outstanding Action Items<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Bridgette Schares will approach Scratch Cupcakes for a cupcake fundraising sale.<ul><li>Update: Bridgette Schares scheduled the Scratch Cupcakes fundraiser for June 2021.<\/li><li>Update: Scratch Cupcakes will be mailing a packet of information to Bridgette as we get closer to the June fundraising date.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Ethan Smith will reach out to Carpenters Union Local 308 for availability of grilling and concession support for the Clipper Classic.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Team Photos<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Katie Schmelzer (KS Photography) can create a standard poster design and allow individual teams creative latitude for customization.<\/li><li>Team pictures will be taken at Katie\u2019s studio in Oxford.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Clipper Classic Awards<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The Club is exploring awards for the Clipper Classic champions and runners-up.<\/li><li>The Club likes the idea of purchasing rings instead of trophies.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Clipper Classic Update<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>7U and 8U teams will play a one-day tournament held on Saturday.<\/li><li>Kona Ice will be onsite at the North Liberty fields. They will reach out to the City of Tiffin to confirm they can be onsite at the Tiffin fields.<\/li><li>In past years Kona Ice has generously donated a portion of their profits back to the club.<\/li><li>Registration Update:<ul><li>7U \u2013 3 teams registered (6 available slots)<\/li><li>8U \u2013 6 teams registered (8 available slots)<\/li><li>9U \u2013 7 teams registered (10 available slots)<\/li><li>10U (combined divisions) \u2013 4 teams registered (10 available slots)<\/li><li>11U \u2013 8 teams registered (10 available slots)<\/li><li>12U \u2013 3 teams registered (10 available slots)<\/li><li>13U \u2013 6 teams registered (6 available slots)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>2021 Registration and Team Updates<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>All teams are paid in full.<\/li><li>9U added a new player, and he has paid in full.<\/li><li>9U is still looking for one more player to fill out their roster.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Apparel Committee<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The Apparel Committee is in the process of organizing the club\u2019s spring order.<\/li><li>Discussion around items that are expected to meet the minimum quantity to fulfill the spring order.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>The latest monthly Clippers Baseball Club checking account statement from 2\/26 has a balance of $33,173.24.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Sponsorships<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Fundraising<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>No update.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Decisions<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): The CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are the top debt priorities: $500 owed to CCASD, $793.10 owed for insurance dues, and $500 owed for mound rental fees.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (10\/14\/19): There is $479 left after CCASD, insurance dues, and mound rental fees are paid.Of the remaining funds raised $100 will go to Tiffin Parks &amp; Rec, and $350 will go to North Liberty Parks &amp; Rec.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (11\/11\/19): The Clippers Club Board voted in favor of making the Clipper Classic a one-day USSSA sanctioned tournament.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (12\/9\/19): $621.72 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $300 to the City of North Liberty, and $300 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (2\/10\/20): $899.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $450 to the City of North Liberty, and $450 to the City of Tiffin.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (3\/9\/20): $705.54 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $610 to the City of Tiffin, and $100 (rounded up) to the City of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (4\/13\/20): The Clippers Baseball Club Board will split the $1,000 grant money evenly among the 6 club teams. Each team may be reimbursed up to $166.67 for equipment purchased between 1\/1\/20 \u2013 5\/31\/20.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (4\/13\/20): $187.23 has been raised to repay debts. The club will pay $180 (rounded down) to city of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (6\/8\/20): $674.25 has been raised to repay debts ($675 rounded up). The club will pay $500 to the Clippers Baseball Club Scholarship debt and $175 to the city of North Liberty.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $1,056 was approved by the Board to pay towards the City of North Liberty debt. Debt paid in full.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $285 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 7U 2019 debt. Debt paid in full.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $620 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 8U 2019 debt.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (8\/17\/20): $1,696 was approved by the Board to pay towards the Clippers Club 11U 2019 debt.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>DECISION (2\/8\/21): The Clippers Baseball Club will align its COVID-19 quarantine policy guidelines with that of the Clear Creek Amana Community School District.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Outstanding Action Items<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li><strong>ACTION ITEM (9\/15\/20): Bridgette Schares will approach Scratch Cupcakes for a cupcake fundraising sale.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>ACTION ITEM (2\/8\/21): Ethan Smith will reach out to Carpenters Union Local 308 for availability of grilling and concession support for the Clipper Classic.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><u>Adjournment<\/u>:<\/strong><ul><li>Meeting adjourned at 6:26pm.
